Just had one of these tossed in my lap today for a fix. Seems to have feeding issues, FTF and stovepipe at times. Mags. also nose dive, letting the first round stand tall. Ammo used is R-P Golden Saber. I know a number of you have experience with the PM9. Any tips? First time for me, messing with one of these. Thanks, JB
I had a CM9 for a few years and never had a problem with it. That being said check out Kahr Talk forums if you want to do a lot of reading on the issues you described. There was always a lot of talk about broken followers and feed ramp polishing issues. If the guy is the original owner I am pretty sure he can contact Kahr and send it back to them for free.
Mag follower or mag spring is probably the culprit. I've got a pm9 that thinks it's a glock. Never cleaned, always works, even with mixed ammo in the same mag. It's flawless and I trust it with my life on a daily basis. Feed ramp has been polished but otherwise it's stock. Btw, kahr wants you to use the slide lock to load the first round per the manual. Slingshot loading not recommended per them.
I've got a Kahr 40 and the only issues I've had is with crappy ammo. Other then that it shoots great and I love it.
Thanks guys, I've cycled this thing and I haven't seen any serious issues so far. Ramp is a bit funky but not really a complaint. I'm leaning towards operator and the ammo. I've read the Golden Saber is not a good choice, I'll try some Critical Defense through it this week end, in my spare time- (yeah , right..) See how it goes.
