The P22 was the exact opposite of how I thought a gun should feel in my hands, where the buckmark felt just right.
Pretty much why I've always been an advocate for fondling , a lot, before you buy. If it doesn't feel right, you won't shoot it well.
I messed around with several options from both Ruger and Browning in guns shops, and probably would have went with the Ruger 22/45 if they had kept the lower aluminum or steel. So I went with the Buckmark because I thought I preferred that grip angle and it felt more premium that the 22/45. Then somebody offered me a trade for a Mark I bicentennial edition in 95% condition that I couldn't pass up, and I find that after shooting it the Ruger is better balanced, manages recoil better, and has a more natural grip angle. For now the Buckmark will continue to be my woods gun, but I'll probably try to find a Mark II that I won't mind if it gets some dings.
My wife has a buckmark campers special. .. I hate that thing... it eats ammo like crazy, but not as bad as a S&W M&P15-22... But in all seriousness the buckmark family is a great line of pistols, fun to shoot and accurate!
