Picked the 27 ton model up that menards had on their Black Friday sale this morning looked like a great deal $799 + another $100 rebate. I put it together today but didnt fill with fluids heat as I won't fire it up till spring. I was pretty impressed with how the unit and quality looked. Anyone else own or pick one of these up today.

    Picture?

PS : Why not oil & run it? Gas is the only thing & you can drain it easy.
    Warranty clock is running :)

    Looks like a nice one
    $700 is a great price !

Yep same one in the pic. I have to buy oil and hydro fluid yet for it. I have all my wood covered up right now and left the splitter at my inlaws garage until I get a shop built in the spring. Just too much going on to get it running right now. I split about 6 cords by hand this spring and have about 2 cords of big knotty stuff that I will do when the weather is better and I have more time. I am going to go and try to get a good load of wood to arrow hopefully to get a start on next year.

    LOL
Paul Harvey's ; "The rest of the story": :)

Several here cut now & wait until Spring to split.
Good plan, but in the back of your mind "the new splitter is calling" LOL :) )
Building the shop would be above the splitter on my list too.

27 tons will make short work of the knotty stuff

Just got a new carport last week and got that splitter running to move wood under the new port after a tank of gas I had a break down with the new spliter . I thought it was in the switch lever. Called the company and was told to check the enaging shaft where it connects with the pump wich I did before the call. Checked it again and noticed a loose set screw on the engine shaft tightened it up and good to go again. Great customer service so far from this company!

I picked on up when they were clearancing them out in late January I think it was for $799. All I can say is AWESOME unit. Had a few big oak rounds that required it to kick down into power (low) mode and chugged right through without any hesitation or bogging from the motor. Going to do the 5 hr oil change this weekend and give it some more workout. Ran just about a cord through and have another one to go. No regrets here!
