Still don't know the details of what transpired but a couple from church with 2 young kids lost their house to a fire today. Wife and I and Mother in Law had lunch after church and this couple was sitting at the table right beside us. Little girl lost a front tooth while we were there and we were laughiung and talking about how much the tooth fairy paid for teeth now a days. This was around 12 and at 6 this evening I get a text from another friend from church that their house burnt, total loss. Good thing is no one was hurt but I just can't get the kids off my mind knowing that they won't have their favorite toys or their familiar bed tonight. The house I believe was relatively new so not sure of origin but I'm sure I will find out more.
Prayers sent. I hope sleeping with the family safe and all there might be a great comfort to the lil ones.
LP, that is a heartbreaker. Prayers sent. Please keep us posted on the outcome and if there are people there to help them.
Thanks guys and gals...this is an awesome group of mighty fine folks on here. I don't know a lot more but what I do know is they weren't home and they had there pets with them. They were able to salvage a few things like pictures and such. Fire is still under investigation but they believe it started in the garage. The young man's father has some rental properties and one fortunatly is vacant so that is where they will be living for now. They have a huge family and our church is about 400 members so we should be able to meet their needs. Thanks all for the prayers...keep them lifted up. I'll update if I find out anything more.
I just saw this... Glad to hear the little bit of good news to come from it... Nobody was hurt, the animals were safe, and they have temporary housing. Prayers are sent that will be looked after and cared for through this troubling times.
A little update....Several groups of people at church organizing some helpful things and the little girl left the tooth fairy a note that she had lost her tooth in the fire, tooth fairy accepted that and gave her a reward anyway.
