[QUOTE="Kermit4, post: 314784, member: 2516"We received first of three firewood deliveries today for the 2016-2017 season. Black locust it is, which we have never burned.[/QUOTE] Wow, when I bought firewood, it never looked that nice. That load looks great; very straight and BL too. Good deal.
Glad to see you guys are getting well ahead with your supply. Kermit4 , are those seasoned splits or green?
The load is green black locust. We will purchase a total of 21 face cords this spring for the 2016-2017 season. We burned slightly less than 16 face cords this past winter with our new Woodstock IS which is an all time low for us.
The stacked firewood behind the fence is ours. It is a mixture of walnut, cherry, some oak and a little bit of Mulberry.
I noticed a slight change in overall useage too, I used 1/2 cord less than I would normally use in my old stove, and considering we had a much worse winter this year says a lot.
$70.00 per 17” average length face cord, delivery included. That works out to about $66.00 per standard (16” long) face cord, delivery included.
