The hickory you guys helped identify and white oak-90 degrees here this afternoon-this is '16-'17 wood

Love your steel roof on that woodshed. Really makes it look first class! You perfect stacks don't hurt either!..

 

Eric VW - Yeah pal, I'd say that'd be your best bet-Thx Fanatical1 your compliments are humbling-hope to add at least two more full stacks in there by weekends end-at least have it on the ground ready to split in front of it-

Shawn Curry I regret not putting that on my house, I was trying to save money when I built my house 10 years ago-I will replace it to match someday-my house is cedar and that copper color has always been my favorite-hey, the wood heats the house, it needs kept pampered right?

 

I love the professional look to your shed, did you build it yourself or did you have someone give you a hand/do it themselves?
Mine is a little thrown together.

 

I built it myself, with help from a skilled carpenter on cutting the rafters and helping put the metal on-took 2 weeks, more or less, expanded metal floor, shadow boarded ends, facing south-gets 10-12 hrs of sun a day and a due west breeze-built in 2010 40' long, 4' wide-two 8' long, 6' high stacks per bay, uglies in between-thanks to all-

 

Eric VW Working on it bud-really committed to getting at least 3 yrs ahead-the wood from today will be placed on pallets on up the bottom for winter after next-I have two in place for the stacking of it and room for about 4-5 more pallets-that and keep reloading ash, maple and beech to the main shed...appreciate your support and kind words-dang what a great bunch of people here...

Funny bogydave -If you look close in the last bay with the junk and wood cart-there is a fire pit sitting on the left hand side just waiting to be placed out-the brush burn spot cant be driven through-the couple helpers I had drying in my house, even though I specifically said "no nails" didnt listen very well-every time it rains I go out and scrounge more nails out of that spot-so-since I cant drive or mow over it I just burn there and weed-eat around the edges-friends gonna bring by a large magnet to help me try and get em all...

 

The way the overhang was done will help keep the rain off the wood, a good design. And the roofing is very well done!

I burned a bunch of pallets out back couple years ago, picked nails for a week,
2 coffe cans full. Used a magnet, hope I got them all.
Dumb move on my part.
Hope I don't find any with a foot or tires

 

That makes me hungry.

 

The pitch on the front is 12/12, the back is 4/12-It matches my house-(thats my late moms house in the background, mine is to the right out of view)-You guys have a great evening and happy hoarding tomorrow
