Sunday is Mother's Day guys. Anyone have grand plans?

Unfortunately my wife is a weekend nursing manager and works every weekend. Last summer when we were on vacation in Maine we stopped in a seaglass jewelry place and she saw a bracelet she wanted but didn't get so I got her a gift certificate so she can get it this summer.

Unfortunately both Moms in this family have passed on. Best we can do is think about them and all the wonderful things they did for us, and how we miss them dearly. Enjoy them while you have them...........................

My parents will be off volunteering that weekend and won't be around. I'll leave a plant and a card on the porch or something :) Saw mom this weekend.

I didn't know this before I started my current job, but Mother's Day is KFC's busiest day of the year, by far. Now, my mom woulda beat me if I showed up with a bucket, but maybe there's something I'm missing.

My mom has been gone for 25 years. We'll have dinner and then go by flowers and garden plants with my mother-in-law. She's an interesting individual, but the only grandparent my kids have.

My mother is tough to do anything for on the weekends. She's 77 and still working 40 hrs a week.
On the weekends she's on the golf course and then in the bingo hall afterwards. One Mother's Day after church I surprised her on the course, the ranger drove me out to meet her. When we got there she told me to get out of her way so she could swing. I'll have to call her secretary to make some time.

I keep asking my lovely wife what she wants to do for mother's day, she is to worried about doing something for our mothers to come up with an idea. So either we build her raised beds for the graden, we go fishing, or trap shooting.... I'm hoping for one of the later two.:D

I think I'll smoke some baby back ribs for lunch or dinner. I always cook on the grill for mothers day.

I hope to have a gift for her as well, a bag of morel mushrooms!

I will remind DH to buy a card for me from the lil one, and pick up some balloons from the dollar store. Perfect for my needs, but he needs reminding since we went almost 2 decades without a child, or me being a mother :)

I had an ex coworker that never got his wife/ mother of two boys anything for mothers day... "she isn't my mom" was all he would say, not that the guy was a bad husband, it was just his thing.

Somehow my dogs buy my wife things from the store that she wants. Usually flowers, perfume, candles. Stuff like that. We don't have human kids, despite those 2 thinking otherwise.

My mom's birthday is the 13th. Both of my parents will come down from the north end of the state and we'll have dinner out at the place of her choice that night. Doing something for both mom's day and her b day are not feasible with them being 3.5 hrs away.
I've never met my wife's mom. So I can't say much about MIL jokes, but she sounds like a horrible person. Seriously.
