Road trip this morning to the cottage with one of the boys and didn't stay long No wind and they are Brutal right now.
Ha! Black fly season has started here as well. It seems that at first, they swarm and don't bite. Then, as time goes by, they bite. A head net and long sleeves and pants helps me.
A bit windy today, and the little no-see-ums couldn't deal with it. I only had minor problems with 'em today. Looks like Emma is getting impatient with you.
A wet spring brings on the little monsters by the droves, it's not going to be a good spring for bugs.
Last year on Memorial Day weekend when I was up north, the black biting flies and midges were so bad that I couldn't stand outside for more than a couple minutes. The only place that was safe was right by the water. You could see the black clouds of them flying in. Bug repellent only made them angrier, and I tried everything I had in my arsenal. I've considered trying to find a beekeepers hat/hood for the yard cleanup up there later this month.
Had spray with me but I think they like it 34? She wasn't having any fun also dave. Tried to take a couple pics of the swarms by the white truck but too blurry and will for sure give it a few weeks till I go back out.
Siding looks great Loon! Going to have to get back up there with you again ...maybe do a little fishing
Bass opening soon and will make a weekend for sure. Mark and Vicky have been working out there and not sure who the hell picked out the Blue? New front deck and he's gonna screen it this week.
Yup, there was a buttload of them little bugs starting here this weekend also. Usually lasts at least two weeks, more like 3 or more! First one flew into my eye...starting out the day right? A few bites already and then ended the day with another right into the mouth/throat...remember what that feels like?
