anybody else striper fish? they dont like me on the fishing board so i thought i would share here. heres the results of our first trip of the year yesterday. pretty great day! caught about 20 fish, with only 4 being under 20". the rest were over 34", some well over. kept 3 of the smaller males and one female that had some gills ripped by the hook. nom nom nom fish tacos tonight! all were on the troll. tried jigging several times on lots of marks to no avail. had my son out, 5 hours in the boat and not one complaint from him. although he was scared of the fish. wife said he just woke up after sleeping for 13 hours straight, lol.
Not many big bass down this way yet, just a lot of short schoolies. I haven't been out yet but hoping to take a day off next week and hit the water. The blue's are on fire down here and from the sounds of it you can't even get the bait down below them. Two of my co-workers went out today so i'll see what their report is tomorrow. Nice fish and looks like a great day on the water!!
