I agree it is wrong what happened to this young man. I keep repeatedly hearing that the people just want respect from the police. Respect like everything in life is a two way street. There is no respect for the police in the city, before this happened. Granted IMHO officers should be held to a higher standard. They are not above the law and should not be treated that way.

 

Again its pretty simple in my mind.

Protesting = acceptable and applauded

Rioting = not acceptable and evil

 

It is. Bumper stickers, T shirsts, bulletin boards, etc.

 

In Texas, you can use deadly force to protect your property (even your neighbor's property). Notice TX doesn't have any looting problems.

 

I first seen them from the Ferguson, MO riots.

 

Probably wouldn't be too popular there... your car would be junk in minutes... like painting a bullseye on it.

As for bad cops, where ever they are... there's never been a better time for good cops to weed em out. I believe the vast majority are just trying to do a decent job in some seriously bad situations.

 

we are contractors to several law enforcement agencies around here. we do clean ups of the firing ranges and other environmental testing. they treat us like criminals, talk about an attitude. if you do not have a badge you are a criminal. I do not have much respect for them anymore.

 

I can tell we take a completely different view on this. This poor young man was nothing more than a criminal and already had many run ins with police. It is simple if the police say stop or come here you listen! These rioters think they are the ones above law enforcement now. They are going out and basically trying to be martyrs for there cause. They are being idiots and acting like animals. I watch that stuff on the news and see them burner American Flags and acting like thugs, makes my skin craw. I don't think they deserve to be respected, I wouldn't trust my dog if it bit me!

 

If Dallas ever wins another Super Bowl there might be riots....being a Packers fan I think you are safe from that happening.

 

I think that's part of the problem around here. You have to be half dead before your allowed to use deadly force to protect anything.

 

I'm not from TX but if Dallas won a SB there may be streets full of people acting like idiots, but I don't think they would be stealing and burning -AKA "protesting".

You are right Bogy...it definitely won't be a quick fix on any front.

 

If this is true, we are all doomed.

 

Maybe these people need to help CSS a chord of wood so they won't have any energy to riot.
