Caught a break in the drizzle, one load today.
Will try to fit all what's left (14/15 wood) in the basement later.

    You mean birch?

Beech would be mighty welcome for Dave, I'm sure.

So, you'd be happy with black birch then. I won't even cut or take cottonwood.

I feel for ya. I got it good with a lot of wood variety, and good btu stuff too.

You should see my face when I find a crappy ole oak pallet at work.:) Better btu's in lodge pole then cottonwood. Only use when dropped off.

Lodge pole is 22.3 mil BTUs/cord (90 cubic feet of wood) (moisture content ? )
    That's pretty good BTUs, :

    west BTU pines.jpg

You can get a permit to cut the dead standing stuff, right ?
Start off with some "near ready to burn" wood

Saw the "axe show" with a crew working lodge pole in Wyoming

How hot ° will it be when the season opens?
How many cord you allowed ?

Be nice to find a thicket with stuff few limbs, make it a bit easier to split

    Have fun :)

That chart is an outlier in my opinion.

Most charts have lodgepole and all those evergreens much lower. 15.3 mbtu on the chart I see

    Really
I saw 3 charts all in the 22 mil range.
Like the white birch here, it more = to the BTU of yellow birch back east.
Evergreens are resinous with more btu per pound than hardwood.
Testing methods vary , various factors.

Had some flurries this morning. Highs first of June around 70 allowed 10 cord permit per household. Always look for the straight stuff. Will make sure to take pictures this season.
