never had one. i haven't had a saw in 15 years, in the past stihl and husky. people with the echos go on about how dependable and reliable they are and they sound good. could be a 60cc saw or bit less displacement. i like short bars, typically 16", with adequate power. i am so far out of the loop it isn't even funny and could use some direction. would like reasonable buy in and a dead reliable unit.
They are as good as Husky and Stihl in my opinion having owned all three brands. I will say they are just a bit slower on the throttle however in my experience they have more torque in the wood and don't bog down… My take on it is cost for power and reliability its the best buy a homeowner can make. Below is the thread I started and a bunch of others have contributed to. Browse through it and you will see multiple opinions and lots of pics of it. http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/threads/new-cs590-timber-wolf-is-in-review.6077/
590 Timberwolf,a 60cc pro grade saw with 20" bar for $400 with 5 year consumer warranty.Probably the best bang for the buck out there.
I have a little echo top handle that I use the crap out of. I use it for limbing on the ground and cutting bigger stuff as well.
