I use a magnifying glass to look , any shiny spots on the cutting tip, it's dull.
    &
finger test, like a fishing hook, the tip of the cutter should dig in when lightly touched.

Looks like you were cutting dirty wood, with sand or dirt in the bark ?
May want to go to the Stihl RM type (round semi chisel) if cutting dirty wood.

I went back, changed files, and made sure I stayed at 30°. All 3 chains that I filed pulled me into the cut!! Even my skip toothed chain!

A sharp chain makes a world of difference. Imagine that. Ran my semi skip on some oak and cherry today and can honestly say that I will be going with skip on my 24" from here on out. That is if my Mastermind 460 can spin it!! Just kidding, it makes a 24" bar look like an 18".

I would think and hope a mastermind 460 could easily spin a 24" full comp chain:loco:

A 461 should pull a 28" stock. Not super fast but do it.

Im happy with it...i wont cut anything that a 28" cant take care of...i would imagine a 441 m tronic is not far behind a 461..7cc's or so....i opted fer the new tech and anti vibe...it sure is smooth in the cut tho..

The 441 pulls a 28" nicely. Heck, I've seen a 32" on a ported 441 and it looked like it wanted more bar!!

28" on a 70 cc saw is right in its wheelhouse.

I've had a 28" on two 460s and a 441 stock. I can't imagine a stock 461 struggling with it. Maybe Mod or upgrade the oiler if it's going to run that bar all the time.

28" runs fine on stock 460s and even 440s. I've run 32" full comp on a stock 044.
