Anyone in the woods?

Turkey opener here, waiting on a gobble. One just started up the creek! Wish me luck.

 

Our opener is last week of April. Haven't even scouted yet. I pretty much know where they will be.

Now quit posting and go give that Tom a dirt nap.

 

Good luck! I hunted turkey once, and got a jake. The hunt was a blast, but I just don't care for the taste of turkey, so I never went again.

 

I've never turkey hunted. We've got them all over here, even in my backyard the other day.

Same here. Almost daily parades of em'.

 

Didn't smash one, had 2 nice birds coming in, shifted a hair to get ready for them and a hen I hadn't seen 30 yards to my left spotted me and that was that. I had to call my tax guy at 9 am. So called it early. I guess I will give it another try tomorrow.

 

Opens here Wednesday.

 

Our opener was yesterday. Doubled up on jakes with a buddy. I normally don't shoot jakes, but it was our first double ever. On film. We were done before 7am. Here's my bird. Probably weighed around 14lbs. My luck, it was a double beard...

 

Very nice! I got my first double with a buddy a couple of years ago. Really exciting.

Opened in Ohio today!! I don't hunt them though!

 

Opened here yesterday. Friend that does not hunt asked for a bird to cook. So I gave him this Jake to make turkey pies.
