Deer looked healthy across the field last night...

    We counted 10, but there could have been more. Not sure how many are in the pic, some in the back. Had 7 feed for a while, and then 3 more came along as it got a little darker. They all looked good... they really liked what they were chompin' on. I'm sure they're out there most evenings now.

    The does haven't had fawns yet. Gestation is around 200 days. They haven't even got their summer coats yet.

    Here, we can see it won't be long before the coats change as they are beginning to lose some winter hair. They also came through this winter in the best shape I've seen them for a long, long time. But we had very little snow this year and only February was a hard month for them.
