This has been a dream of mine since I bought my house. Tomorrow is the big day! I finally have all the tools in place, set up and ready to go, and some beautiful logs to saw.

Ready to make the first cut:

The guide rails were definitely worth it in my opinion - had it set up in less than 10 mins, and once it was dogged down, it was nice and sturdy.

    Drum roll please... :D

Beautiful day for it - I'd be flooding y'all with firewood pics if I didn't have funner projects to start. ;)

If I end up with enough board feet, new T&G flooring for my kitchen. :) I'm going to resaw these slabs into boards on my vertical bandsaw, effectively quartersawing them. I want to get a bunch of them made before I call in a favor from my BIL. ;)

I'm very happy with how they are turning out, and very happy with the tools as well. Mastermind sure knows how to build a saw! I only needed wedges for a smoother cut: the offcut would vibrate and cause chatter if it wasnt shimmed up. But the saw had plenty of low end grunt to punch through, even with 6" slab sitting on top of the bar!:dex:

Thanks! It was a chain that I re-filed to 10 degrees with the help of a granberg file-n-joint. I had to touch it up after the first log, then it got through two more and it still seems good for another.

    Here's log 3:

Some nice figure in this one:
