It's kinda nice reading about everyone else getting the spring snow. It has been missing me for the most part. On Monday, just a bit east (and south also) of me, 10" was dropped on 'em! I realize that we will get nailed; always do. It's just delayed a bit.
Today is mid-30's with dropping temps. Rain changing to snow. Sounds like something could happen there, right?
Hope to make a trip to the cottage and start stocking it up for the season. Also, dropped a maple on Monday and finish bucking that up and look for the next victim. I've got a basswood that's just itching to be next!
Getting a couple bids for some work to be done on the cottage this year. Hope they're gentle with me.

Pear trees are just starting to bloom and the grass is dark green and growing like crazy. With a low of 66 we slept with the windows open a little last night...could hear the frogs all night. Raining like a SOB right now, but it should be sunny again tomorrow and through the weekend.

I've got about umpteen thousand outdoor projects but you can barely walk through the yard the ground is so wet. I hope things dry out soon or I'm going to be way behind.

60's, the rain/thunderstorms just keep rolling thru. The grass and weeds already have a good jump on me,,might be a good time to get the yard roller out, maybe chase some night crawlers this evening,. The fishes love, love, love 'em some Rush county jumpers!

The night crawlers have been crazy here. They start coming out about 6PM (not even close to dark). I've been catching some and feeding them to the chickens, although they aren't quite sure what to do with them yet.

So I am not used to the term night crawlers when it comes to fishing and feeding chickens. What are they?

Or, you could watch Grumpier Old Men! There is a scene in there that is about nightcrawler picking!

Worms,,,usually brown-ish, I pluck 'em out of the garden or pick 'em off the grass in heavy rains, they usually only come out after dark and much bigger than red worms which are generally found in discarded straw from livestock bedding.

It's been raining by the bucket load here. We got at least 2" of rain last night, and more is on the way. They shut down I-43 by my house due to flooding. That's crazy.

My sump pump is all set, basement watchdog with battery backup. It's kicked on surprisingly little. The ground being thawed must be allowing the water to drain as it should, and not into my foundation.

Looks like I won't be getting any firewood from my woods any time soon. This will be a lot of mud.

Can we either just start this week over again or get to 5 pm on Friday quickly? It's been one of those lovely weeks...:headbang:

Well, its coming. Winter storm warnings are out for this evening-tonight-tomorrow morning. Up to 8-10" of the heavy wet stuff after it changes over from rain freezing rain sleet. With some windy conditions.
Wanna make any bets on the power?

We lost power for a bit this AM. Lightning hit somewhere within a hundred or so feet of the house. It was flash and bang at the same time.

It has been in the mid thirties here the past few days. Snow last night to drizzle all day. Nor' easterly wind off the ocean all day. Hot cream of tomato soup with sausage and tortellini and grilled cheese sandwiches. I will light the stove in a bit. Unreal.
