Mostly ash, staged and ready to haul. Better than most any day in the office. 4715.jpeg

when im in the woods i work much harder than i have to at work. But if i could, i would quit my job. And i would spend every day cutting wood, making trails, hauling brush, etc. I could do it every day for the rest of my life, and i would die a happy man.

I told my wife I shed all my top layers on Monday while hauling, loading and splitting to just a t shirt. It was 42 degrees, and I was perfectly warm. My wife thought I was nuts.

That means you were burning some Easter dinner off.:)

You and most of the others here are after my own heart. That's where I am heading, now if somebody cold call Sonic and tell them to stop dragging their feet. I would be out of here in a heart beat doing what I love.

Looks like it may be two truck loads there? What'd ya use to haul it?
Still way too much snow/water/mud around here to go scrounging.

Just staging for now, but from that site I use my little four wheel drive tractor, 30 HP diesel and a wagon. I can take carry about 2/3rds of a cord in it, plus I fill the bucket. Its a property not far from mine where I was given 10-12 cords of tops. A little poplar (which I cut when its in the way for shoulder season) , but mostly oak, ash and locust.
