Any of you know where to get flat belting and tools for splicing them. I'm in no hurry just trying to get an idea to make a gameplan.
No, I have done some reading on hand crank coal forge restorations that used belts as I was looking at buying one. I'm sure someone will be along to give you some more help.

Look or watch for any farm auctions. There are bound to be plenty of belting at those. Not sure if Tractor Supply still handles it or not. fwiw, it is easy to splice so have fun!
Ya. I'm going to learn about them. I've spliced conveyor belt on screen plants so I'm sure it's similar.
As Jon posted above McMaster is the place to go for mechanical drives/fasteners you name it. I use Grainger through work for most stuff, but good old Mcmaster-Carr when it comes to fasterners, drive belts, anything mechanical - they have it
