I was hoping to see some leg of lamb on sale. No meat on sale, bummer. They are stocking fresh turkeys, $1.89lb, no thanks. Those turkeys will probably be about $1 a pound next week, but then, not so fresh. I enjoy lamb, but not it's price. 5 pound boneless leg runs about $40 around here. Oh well, I make awesome chicken and ribs! With two kamados and a Weber kettle, the feast is on!
I'm dining out tomorrow. The sounds of a BBQ do sound very enticing, wish it was a little warmer here
I just got some pork out of the freezer to smoke for tomorrow, the lamb shanks aren't gonna make it!!
Smoked a turkey with maple charcoal and some apple branches. Brined the turkey in salt sugar garlic and cayanne. It was Hella good.
3 racks of baby back ribs.....did 1 rack today as a pre-run. Not as fall of the bone as I like but competion ready lol.
The second run was much better, the last pic above. The grill temp is way off, under that is. Thanks to my Igrill2 I was able to adjust temp on grill to get an actually 225-230 range. I left a few ribs dry to try out on the ends, everyone wanted sauce so I went that route.
Thanks, yeah it was nice to try a different Rub on each rack and get different reactions. I am still in the experimental phase so learning everything I can.
