I got all the seeds I had started. I need more peppers, and tomatoes, Italian parsley, cucumbers for my bloody Mary pickles, maybe some other stuff.

I actually tried some tomatoes from seeds. I will see how that goes. I usually just buy started mater's.

Anyone else grow Asparagus? Easiest vegetable to grow ever. The stalks should be popping up here in just a few weeks.

We used to grow it at my parent's old house. My wife and I love asparagus, just had some store bought stuff last night.

If you plant it, it takes a while before it produces, right?

This is our fourth season growing it. Got hardly anything the first year. Last year was the first year that we had a decent amount of it and I expect a lot more this year. We started with about 8 plants in a row of about 6ft and the plants seem to be staying contained, but with a lot more stalks.. It gets kind of messy with weeds in the summer, but it's just a small area. I like it because the only thing we do to it is cut it back in the fall.
A lot of it can be found growing wild around here, especially on the edge of woods and along railroad tracks, right alongside the multiflora rose.

A dusting of snow this morning. The only thing I planted was my butt in my guitar chair. :)

How far apart do you plant yours? I go about 1' apart. Thats about optimum for me to deweed and hoe around. My rows are about 80' long.

I got more seeds to start, now I need to get them planted.

Green onions, Serrano peppers, Italian parsley, jalapeƱo peppers, cucumbers. Maybe missing one.

You all might want to think hard about your gardens. The west coast is having a severe drought. Things like greens are going to cost way more than usual. Simple to grow normally, but not so much if you don't have water. I like my salads. I hoping my daughter in law will jump in and help this year.

Water tanks are under down sprouts. Currently setting at about 850 gallons possible under the spouts. With capacity of around 2700 gallons....

I thought about this a week ago and will prolly go buy another pack of spinach and maybe leaf lettuce. I never plant a full pack of anything except the spinach and lettuce so I'm good on everything else.
Produce sure has come down a lot here just in the last 4-6 months. All last summer I saw tomatoes at $3/lb. Now they are all under $1.50. I'll be putting in extra everything. Maybe even zucchini . The extra I'll sell off. Tanks will go under the gutters in a month.

I've got peppers, onions, tomatoes, radishes, and mixed greens (already used the first babies for a couple wraps) growing so far. I'm planning on doing everything indoors this year so there will be spindly plants. On the plus side, they are growing. Going to add an eggplant, carrots, and herbs down the road here within the next month or two.
