I have an Onkyo pretty close to yours. The warm glow of the lights behind the smoked glass :)

here's another story that took place in my hometown of Garrettsville Ohio in 1934, Alvin "creepy" Karpis, another depression era gangster, held up a train in the village right near the train depot, he got away with $27,000, he was the last "public enemy #1" to be taken by the FBI when he was caught, he also was the longest held prisoner at Alcatraz.............. Tube amps sure do sound good. I just don't have any of them anymore. My father may still have a couple stored away, but I think my oldest brother hoarded all of them.

I'm fairly young, but I've repaired enough stuff to know that the stuff made in the good old days is usually better made than the disposable stuff we have now. I love technology, but I wish more of it was made like stuff was years ago.

Yes, ive posted pics in other threads... I have a '63 Mac 240 I rebuilt, currently using an 80s CJ tube pre and music hall phono. I wanted a Mac C22 to go with the 240 but collectors have priced those into the stratosphere.

At the coke ovens, was there a canal to move the coke out? It looks like a low area.

This is a real nice thread. I can appreciate structures like these.

i actually went to sharpsville to buy a very nice set of realistic mach two speakers from a very nice older lady, she only lives about two miles from lock 10, so it was a no brainer to go check out the lock, also there's a restored pre 1810 one room cabin at the same site, so i killed two birds with one stone today, covering two of my favorite hobbies at the same time!......i found out the lady that sold me the speakers is also a bit of a canal buff, we talked for quite while, couldn't ask to meet a nicer person........a couple more pics...........:D IMAG0143.JPG IMAG0148.JPG 1793496b-b41c-46fb-a075-f325121724a02.JPG

actually it's a narrow gauge railroad, it's about ten feet to the bottom where the rails are, it slowly filled with water which they've since drained, but now they have to build railings to make the park safe, so until then it remains closed, but it still can be seen from the road.........
