I've heard of folks making their own gaskets out of more re-usable material than the single use gaskets that come with a lot of stoves. I am wondering what these are made from and where to get? Any advice appreciated.
I ordered this from Amazon and cut out a combustion blower gasket from it... http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0075E9OJW
I ordered several 1/8 " thick pre made gaskets from Brunner's http://pelletblowers.com/bbandp/ these are much better than the normal ones because they are not as flimsy and it is extremely easy to get the blower apart without damaging the old gasket. Steve's gasket is likely to last longer than mine. I replaced the gaskets on the convection air system with a silicon rubber set cut from some high temperature stuff from amazon similar to what Steve posted a link to.
Yes, I have a couple gaskets from Brunner's on hand and those are definitely a better gasket than the ones that came with my stove.... Good call Smokey!
I bought a sheet of this stuff for about $10 at Napa. Finishing up third season with same combustion gasket still intact http://m.napaonline.com/parts/PartsDetail.aspx?k=FPB2499_0438965462
