    us decide that next winter we'll heat with oil, whatever the cost

    So this spring/summer/fall I won't be cutting much.

    What ever will you do with all those trees that keep falling down on your land?
    Think about having a mini split heat pump installed. They produce heat at what it would cost to do the same with oil at $1.50 a gallon. They aso cool your home in the summer for far less money than regular wall units. They work until the outside temps go below minus 15 F, at that point they shut off.

    My wife got me this morning (she told me it snowed a foot) so I had to get someone.

    I will look into a mini split heat pump, never heard of them.

    Mini-splits are a good idea if you don't mind the indoor head unit hanging on the wall.
    Been mulling over doing that in a few years myself, but we'll still heat with wood as well, as long as we can.

    I am 6 months from being out of vehicle payments and have told my wife how I hope to never have a car loan again. Couldn't help myself. Buddy called and asked if I could chauffeur for getting his new pickup home. Stopped by the house and said hon...I got a real good deal. The look on her face was priceless combo of WTF, why did we not discuss this and what about never having vehicle payments and you never do knee jerk decisions/purchases but there are dealer plates on it and its in our driveway. Then I let her in on it and I was saved from being sterilized with a rusty soup can lid.
