Mostly, anyway. For now. Had this Minty MS460 show up at my door today. All original, low hours, purchased from the original owner. It's going to be my felling and bucking saw. So I am the second owner of an all original 026, 036 pro, and an MS460. The previous owner of my MS660 was Randy, and it has too many new parts to list. Drooling yet?
I was at one of Terrry's Chainsaw Gtg's in Tn ( Met Randy there) there was one guy there (Big Dude) that had a 660 as his only saw. This dude would go in the woods and Fell, Limb, Buck ect all with that same saw.... Bad azz in my book
Good looking saws.... but really, CAD cured? We all know better... but hey, you can tell your wife that, if it makes her feel better!
....You've been bitten and it looks like you're a pretty sick individual...... You better stick around with us, as we will be the only ones that will understand this sickness that you've contracted. Thats a sweet saw there...You've done good my friend, real good
Whaaaat? You can cut a tree from start to finish with just one saw? I never knew. No wonder my buddies look at me so funny when I roll into the woods with four saws. Of course, these are the same buddies that think I'm nuts for stacking my wood up for a couple years before I burn it.
My brother and I went to his woods to cut up a White Oak that had toppled. As we unloaded to start working, we started to laugh-we had 5 saws between us! Our father worked winters as a logger in the 1960's- with 2 saws! Will
That's the nice thing about sticking with one brand - she can't tell the difference between them! It's technically possible, but not nearly as enjoyable. I did that last year - I cut 11+ cords of firewood with a little 18" Echo CS400. Some pretty big trees too. And that's precisely why I now own 6 chainsaws of various shapes and sizes.
Then I have been cured.. I only have 5 saws now (Poulan 3450 is not in Sig and will be for sale soon)!! Yes!!!! I knew this day would come!! That is a great looking group of saws! To go from a CS 400 to that? That is an accomplishment! Congrats!
Hey now dont be dissing the mighty CS-400 warrior to bad before I joined AS & FHC, my one and only saw was a CS-400. I cut everything with that saw up to 30" across... (18" bar, cutting from both sides) didn't win any races but it got the job done...... eventually..........and it kept the house warm in the winter. No complaints,,,, but it was lacking and I knew it I'm going to sleep so much better tonight now,, knowing I was not the only who had a CS-400 I went from the CS-400 to a 362 R CM,,, I NEVER touched or ran that Echo ever again!! Then I went to a MM ported 441c, then a 661c,, I was bucking up some 28-30" rounds a few weeks ago with the 661,, stopped to refuel and looked at the rounds and thought, wow a few years back,,, I would have went after those with the CS-400 not anymore Sooooo much more fun now
Awww . . . that's cute . . . thinking CAD has been cured. You must be careful Shawn - you're at a fork in the road. One of two things will likely happen to you next. 1) You're going to freak out and sell off at least half, but possibly all of your saws because you'll think you have too many and/or too much money stuck into them. You will subsequently start buying more. 2) You're going to realize you have all of the saws you can possibly need. You will then subsequently admit that need has little to no bearing on your inventory and will just keep buying them. I have a friend who keeps going down the first path. It's painful to watch. I have another "friend" who is deep into the woods on the second path. It's not painful to watch because it's perfectly normal, and it's not hurting anyone, and his wife doesn't really understand, and nobody really understands, and he doesn't understand why people keep asking him why he has so many chainsaws, and why doesn't everybody just leave him alone?!?! Sorry, I got sidetracked. It's, um, just tough to see that poor second "friend" deal with CAD. Good luck!
