I have a bunch of 4" holes I need to be dug around my place for fencing and firewood stacks. Decided I'm not going to hand dig them all, so picked this up this post hole digger from Harbor Freight today for $149.00. Probably not the best quality, but hopefully will take care of what I need done this spring. :)

Wife said when I got home.... "Another toy?!"

Tell her it is great for planting tulips and daffodils as well. ;) But then again that might add to the honey do list.:D

Make sure you keep your thumbs on top of the handles. Those things can grab a rock or root and twist right around on ya. I use one at work alot and it's caught me off guard a few times :emb:

I have been thinking of buying one of those. Let us know your thoughts after using it a little.

Even if you only get 30 holes out of it I'd say you got you money's worth at that price.

That reminds me I have one of those out in the corn crib haven't used it since I put in the last pasture, they work pretty slick, made quick work of line posts. Congrats

I have this same auger. If your soil is relatively root and rock free it will dig a hole in seconds. If not it may be difficult.
