I was going through granpas shop today and found a double eagle 80. Big ole saw, pull cord didn't what can you tell me about them? Might make a project to get tit running if its worth doing, got an 028 I'm working on now, and an 026 coming soon.

82cc and a lot of fun to run. Some parts can be difficult to find and can be pricy. PM me if you need an IPL or if you're thinking of selling.

Ted is spot on about the DE80. From what I have read, it is basically an SP80 with a fancy name and maybe a few modifications. I had one that was mint and sold it for big money on Ebay a few years back. It was heavy and a little awkward, but it cut really well and had good lugging power. Great sounding saw!

I picked it up today and got it running, It idles but when you run it wide open, it will run for about 10 sec then it dies. Any ideas, I'm new to working on chainsaws, but trying to learn. you guys are right his saw does have a cool sound .

Sounds like an air leak .. probably crank seals or maybe the metering lever is too low. not a large deal on these. Easy peasy.

Just pulled the fuel filter to take a look at it, its toast and the fuel line too, had gas in it for years..no surprise. Where can I get a new fuel line and filter?

I'd go through the complete fuel system if I was you; carb kit, fuel line, fuel filter. Peace of mind and will prevent headaches when trying to tune it. That diaphram moves very fast when running, they get stiff over time and can't keep up with fuel supply.

You tried to run it with the old gas in it?? I wont run last years gas (if its Ethanol) New gas rules out at least one problem..
