Have wanted to post this for a while, it has been a couple years. Fishingpol this is for you first step was to build a mold to cast the oven sections, section templates for shape, wire, then form with plaster and smooth
next was to add dividers to section the casting into 4 pieces to allow for expansion and contraction. note the top is a circle so the points do not crack off. the refractory is a high density 100lb per cu ft mix. after packing ref. remove divider and repeat
allow to cure 7-10 days then pop off mold. move pieces to concrete table. the table is 6 inch thick, 5000 psi concrete with #8 rebar tied in 12 inch grid
refresh my memory, was it you and fishingpol that bought one of eachothers home where one of you built a pizza oven?
OK, never mind. But still, that outdoor kitchen is jaw dropping! And to think you are going to sell it.....
Great build and a great space. I'm glad you put your pics up here. Any thoughts of building one in St. Croix?
yes we will build another one, along with all the paver work. Positive side, no 3 foot deep footings to dig.
pretty sure it never has snowed there, locals 74 is cold . we were there in dec. and people had jackets on. 78 degrees
That was a great display of craftmanship IP. I was all excited to see the Outdoor oven build then I saw all the other goodies you made. And I bet thats not even your job
