Thanks :). I am more concerned with jetjr s littlest one, it's harder to help at that age.

Thanks guys. His pediatrician was mine when I was a kid so I have a lot of faith in him. The reason for concern was he had an issue eating a piece of chicken the other day. Than he developed a bad cough and wheeze. Dr only heard the wheeze on one side so he wanted us to get him checked better.

wildwest thanks for the extra concern. I think he's going to take after me. I had so many ear infections I had to have those tubes put in, twice. They just did a regular course of antibiotics.

Also glad they didn't need to use a scope to go down his airway to check things out. That would have been really rough on him.

Good morning, a cool cloudy 30-something with rain in the very near future.
I finally got out of doors and took out a 1/2 rotten cherry tree yesterday, man it was good to get out and burn some 2 cycle mix.
I've got some catching up to do on reading here, hope this finds you good people well. Peace.

I'm taking a couple days off and I'm at my parents cabin. I currently have the lopi endeavor blasting the heat out on the main level. Tomorrow is wood cutting, taping of drywall in the bathroom, making window wood trim with the miter saw, moving stuff, maybe painting, whatever my 70+ year old parents need. Dads birthday is the 28th, he turns 71.

Oh yeah, I need to put the top fire bricks back in the endeavor. I see them on the side by the stove. Hmmm. Do I even ask?

I'll just put it back together, and clean the glass.

Good morning, 40-ish with rain and we might see 60 degrees, thunderstorms tonight.
Girl called from the workhouse wanting some time off for a funeral or something or other today, I rectum I'll go cover her shift 11am to 3pm today, she's good people.
Spent a few hours in the woodshed yesterday moving/restacking everything to one end, making room for more wood. I had a bunch of splitter trash and sech to burn off, still have about 1/2 a truckload to move.
You folks have a good day.

Pouring rain and blowing this morning so we wimped out on the morning walk. Stayed in bed with three dogs to cuddle. Up now and getting ready for work. Glad I have an inside job.

Cleaned out the back of my truck and took off my fancy spruce plywood tonneau cover... put the track rack in that lets me load the Suzuki over the wheel wells, with tracks on. Had to get around back with the JD to get that rack rig (kinda heavy) before the ground got soft. Gonna be above 40 and sunny today. My son and I are headed to the cabin next week (on a good calm day) and see if we can get that brush/scrapwood pile to burn. It's been covered all winter with a tarp. Hopefully, it'll be dry enough.

I am feeling well; the boss/owner is a good man and after 39 years of running the business is ready for some time to enjoy his small farm. He is really looking forward to it and deserves it.
I am at the point of my life where I call it semi-retired. I just have a couple more "projects" I would like to take care of before I pull the plug on having a job so I'll probably take a part-time somewhere. Last week a local contractor made it clear that he was willing to train, but alas, he too did roofing and ladders and I just don't get along like we used to. I'm sure if WWW has any older guys with him, he knows this also. I don't mind them, it just day after day that would get to be a problem.

Roofing is a hard way to mark a living even for young guys. Hard on the body. I've only roofed about 10 buildings and that is all I ever care to do. I can't see myself doing it every day. Old men (no offense) should be doing finish carpentry...too much experience and patience to waste on slapping shingles.

"Old men (no offense) should be doing finish carpentry" ... would I have to move much doing that? :BrianK:;):D I couldn't agree more Lukem... I'm more than happy to have the young bucks do the liftin' and climbin' these days...

You are exactly right. It's tough work. I've only done a handful of roofing jobs, only for friends or family. I'll keep it that way.
My house might be needing a new roof with tear off in a couple years. That will probably be the last one I ever do.

We got about 4" of fluffy snow last night. Its windy, but I still have some downed red pine that needs to be cut up so my parents can get the ATV down by the lake.

I'll get to try out their new stihl ms211c With a 16" bar. Man is that saw light, and its got tiny little chiahuahua teeth. I'll report back with a viscousness report.

It's only red pine, so it should eat pretty well.:saw:
