After all the interest I see and the hijack of the Chinese saw competition thread I am going to start a thread dedicated to these earthquake saws.

Those that have one or have bought on share your pics and experience and any mods you have done.

Those who are new there are several members here who have bought these little saws ranging from 38-41-45cc from the moreoutdoor4u.com site for less than $50 shipped to the house. these are "As Is" deals and some have been brand new just opened to seen wood to just fueled up. Some are fine out of the box and some need minor tweaks of the carb. these saws seem to have decent quality and respond well to muffler mods. Several members elsewhere have reported compression over 200 psi stock.

Let's hear and see um guys.

I just broke down and ordered the 38cc saw. What the heck, for $39 I can't pass it up. I'll add that to the 45cc saw that came on Saturday.

I really don't need it, but now I'll have a backup for the wood shark. If it explodes on me, then I've got a spare bar and chain for not much more money than the bar and chain alone would have cost me.

I wonder what the quality difference is between the Earthquakes you are getting and the Richmonds I get from the local guy??
Wish Dex was a little closer I could run over and compare them. I know mine runs great and the guy I get them from imports them by the skid and can not keep them in stock. Now his cost more but they are NIB and I can drive over and pick them up. He is supposed to get some 103cc machines in, I have a 62cc now.

this is the 62cc, modded muffler next step port and polish cylinder and raise compression. Also have new drive sprocket, for faster chain speed, and chain.

I bought the one I have as a display model. they run 58cc $145 62cc $209 NIB. have not had it long enough to blow it up, it does run really good has lots of power. looking at specs/pics from both saws Earthquake/ Richmond I think they come from different manufacturers, seem to have different features. Mine does not have a primer and the controls are alittle different. Should have the Earthquake in 2 days so I will compare them.

Because I wanted to see if these saws would last so I loaned it out to anyone that ask (the only saw I loan out)

It also helps if you change the chain because the chain that comes with it is garbage

I have too many other size saws bigger than 38 cc so I didn't need anything bigger and these saws do not have the power as a Stihl or Husky chain saw of the same cc

I also painted it orange and call it HUSKYQUAKE :)

That seller is the same as the guy selling them on eBay. Its all Artisam! Your PayPal payment on eBay or more outdoor goes to Artisam . They just cost more on eBay as they have to cove the fees.

They sell on ebay as well. Most of the EarthQuake listings on the 'bay are theirs.
