Maybe not really secret, but the drawer on our folding table has gone unnoticed for almost 13 years until yesterday. Here is what we found within.

Well, if she were real, she'd be kinda old-ish by now. Sure you wanna' go there? I was being facetious. Anyway, very cool time capsule type thingy.
I have 3-4 of those openers hanging on a little brass hook next to spare keys on end of small wall-mounted CD cabinet. 2 of Tennents Lager of Glasgow,Scotland (its excellent,but not easy to find in some areas),Grain Belt Beer & another which I cant remember the name right now. None of these are less than 50 yrs old,they used to be very common but aren't as easy to find anymore.At least one gets used all the time.One of those little things that will last forever,unless you lose it.
I got a kick out of that handle thingy with the "phone 55" painted on it. Must have been WAY before 10-digit phone numbers like we have today.
When we tore out our 1940's era kitchen several years ago during our whole house reno, we found all kinds of neat stuff.......some late 30's-early 40's football cards, vintage bottle caps, etc...... And we found a Babe Ruth baseball card in the wall of one of the bedrooms!! It was a card from after Babes golden years and it is in bad shape, bit its a Babe Ruth card!!
Man, can't argue with the Babe! We found some post cards last year when I removed some trim in the kitchen.
In my line of work we run into situations like this every once in awhile. Doing demo in an older home you are almost always going to find something. We just went to bare bones inside a church built in 1820, old newspapers were used as shims back then, good reading if you could open them without it falling apart. About 10 yrs ago we found a human hand inside a wall cavity, just a pile of hand bones when we got there.
I demoed my bathroom in 2010 and found some old newspaper that had been airlocked behind the tile wall so it didn't deteriorate too much. Had advertisements for the movies out at the time. Interesting reading
