Last night there was a county sheriffs car screaming around the area. Highly unusual out here in the sticks to see them unless something is up. Come to find out, there has been some break ins in the area. They knock on the door and if some one is home they have some cock and bull story about looking for a certain persons house or asking directions. If no one is home they have been kicking in doors and doing a quick grab of any thing of value and beating it. I'm seriously thinking about some sort of security cam system. Money is a problem so it needs to be cheap. Any ideas? Hell, I might even just put a sign on the door that reads. "Smile. You and your vehicle have just been photographed."
As you enter my driveway, you are greeted with two conspicuous signs. Top one says "This property protected by Rottweiler Security". The one directly under it says "Smile...Your On Camera". Next move is up to you................... If you are a thief and enter my residence vertically, and I happen to be there, your remains WILL be leaving horizontally no ifs, ands, or buts...........

I bought a kit for my grandmother in law. Around $40. It's not connected to the police or anything but it does have a very loud siren. It came with double back tape or screws. Also fake cameras are inexpensive.
Few years ago when I wasn't home some girl came to the door in the late night asking directions from Mrs loon Murphy was alive then and was the exact opposite of Emma so the gal wasn't too long running back to the minivan that was waiting out on the road. Good nothing happened at your home Butcher.
Do you have a harbor freight near by? The have the fake cameras there. With the 20% off coupon.... They also have some live security systems... I think they even a driveway alert system. Or you could do like Kevin did on Home Alone did with the Pizza and mob scene...

The problem with posting signs about firearms and the like out here is that you are just advertising that you have a house full of guns and ammo like I do. It is like a help yer self hose on an anhydrous tank to a meth head. Most if not all people that know me leave me alone cuz I am crazy as a loon. But I worry about those unenlightened individuals that would like to take from me what I have worked to obtain. If they are freezing, hungry, need cloths, or want work to get a better life I would gladly help them as I have done in the past with others. But please don't steal from me or my fellow man. that kind of behavior will not be tolerated out here in the flat lands.
