Match Madness Tournament!

I really think it's going to be tough to beat white oak!

 

Today's matchups are up, all teams are 16 seeds. Buckeye vs Big Leaf Maple and Ponderosa Pine vs Willow. Vote in poll at the top of the page.

 

Willow is the worst.

 

I'm routing for an apple, mulberry, hedge, black loctust flaming four.

 

You all know I'm a BIG mulberry fan! Wonder if sass can make a cinderella run?

 

Gonna be hard to beat sbh. If it gets through that it might go far.

 

Sass has a tough first round draw too-- anything with locust in the title is going to be tough.

 

Black locust, hedge, white oak and black birch in the final four.

This was a really good idea. I'm pulling for hedge. White Oak or Red Oak would make me happy too.

 

Red fir has to make it to the elite 8

 

I'm with Steven on the Red (Douglas) Fir. For us westerners Larch, DF and Lodgepole are the holy trinity (probably in that order, but I've been staying warm for 5 winters now burning almost nothing but Lodgepole and DF... I'm thinking the seeding for this tournament is east-coast bias at its finest.

 

Yup were the lil guys in this tourney.

 

East coast west coast battle. Madrone was the west coast favorite and live oak would have been the best from the southern bracket.

 

Big Leaf Maple wins over Buckeye 10-5 and Ponderosa Pine shuts out Willow 13-0. I will update bracket tomorrow morning.

 

Theres gotta be more people who would like to participate in this

 

Tomorrow starts the round of 64, maybe that will get their attention.

 

How could the selection committee snub alligator juniper? It was clearly a bubble wood, but it came on late in the season!
