Took a fall at the end of January on some ice, went to ER and nothing was broke. Now its mid March and Im still in pain. Have a app with a Surgeon in two weeks to get a MRI and advise what I did...........I hope it dosn't involve surgery
Hope you're OK es332 I took a hard flop on ice in Jan of 2014 too. No fun. Took me a few months to get "normal" again. I don't think we flop around quite as well when we get older... Get better...
Hope this turns up as a simple fix for you. I took a ice flip about 8 years ago. Landed on my left shoulder. Turns out I tore my rotator cuff. Fortunately it was not big enough that they would operate on. Took about 2 years for it to heal on its own. Hurt like a SOB during that time though. I HATE ICE............way too unforgiving on us old guys..............
Shoulder , makes some popping noises and hurts like sun of a gun, had to start the snow blower ( when it snowed ) with my left arm cause the right hurt so bad
Good that you're going to have them look you over real well. My best bud took a fall on a bike years ago and hurt his right shoulder. He just somehow got beyond the pain taking meds and it healed up 100%... or so he thought. Couple years ago, he also took another flop on ice and re-injured that shoulder. This time it was bad. They found that he'd had ligaments/muscles (bike accident) torn away from his shoulder and had retracted over the years... now this new injury really did it. He went to 2 separate docs for opinions and they both said operating was not an option because they couldn't re-attach those older tissues. He now can only lift his arm up to about waist height. If he'd just had it looked at after the bike accident he probably would have been OK, even after this latest fall.
