I am ahead vs last year by the graphs - funny check book doesn't think so though. Distribution and such charges are not part of the graph.

Little update for those not following the other thread. I am now the proud owner of my first wood stove. A NC30 that is going to get partially inserted into a fireplace. Cant wait till winter and to bug all you experts out there!

Right where I want to be.
Take a pic of the first part, but kindly refrain for the second part.:D
Got mine last year on the 18th of March, and the outside temps were considerably colder than this year, so I got a chance to burn the stove for a bit before the season ended.

Great, fire it up outside if you can to cure the paint before moving it in place.

I had to bug both the pellet and wood experts for hooking up the pipes too, they were awesome :)

    LOL!!

For electric heat, $400 is NOT bad at all. My electric is about 300 a month in winter, and I have oil and stove heat. But I used to use between 800 and 1200 gallons of oil a winter, I used 182 this year so far. Maybe 40 or 50 will finish the season at most. So the stove has saved lots of $ over time. It is a lot of work, getting, bucking, spitting, stacking, moving, bring into house, loading stove... but like most here, I enjoy it and surely enjoy the stove heat and view. ;)

I can't wait til next winter when the Mrs. gets a taste of wood heat, and they don't have to be bundled up in layers of clothes when the house is warmer. Then they can chuckle where its cool by the windows and watch the savings add up from less electric heat...... Hmmm, am I too personally involved with a strangers new stove ?

Maybe so, but who cares, just very very happy for him :)
