There is also supposed to be a similar unit with more btu output and larger hopper. That may be the first Harman that would work as my main stove replacement due to its smart capabilities.

I wonder if they will ever release a controller upgrade the older units? I bet many would if they did.

Oh yeah, I would rather a p61 or 68 with that controller.

Looks more like an ash builder to me

Dont get me wrong, I love the idea of that cool looking interface but cringe at coming home after a major wind or ice storm and finding the unit fried from surges (yes I have a good protector on my stove). Wonder how much that is after warranty period is up?

Is this thing voice commands telling you what to do and when? If so, I wonder if it has a womans voice is changeable-Like from the nagging voice at the self checkout telling you what to do, or a sexy / sultry voice enticing you to do its bidding?

Here's the product page for it. http://staging.harmanstoves.com/Products/Absolute43-Pellet-Stove.aspx

I do like this stove, I do not like the price. I would gladly give up all the new bells and whistles for the extra BTU the P68 provides at the same price tag!

    Almost 4K?

My P68 was less than that including venting, but that was in 2009.

More expensive electronics to crap out. The touchpad is nice as long as it works, but with the temp changes on a stove how long before it quits? And how expensive to replace? Wait till it has history behind it.

The Enerzone Eurostar as well as several other SBI stoves (Osburn 5000, Alterna, etc) have been using this same touch screen interface for a few years.

So far so good. It troubleshoot itself and does a very good job. I have zero qualms with this stove after 2 full seasons.

Although the Enerzone runs off a stat. Unlike Harman and their room sensing technology. I kinda like how you control it from the stove.

well, Tully, the thing is, when you WANT TO do something isn't necessarily what's correct. I maintain that there are far fewer folks who scrape too often than the ones who don't scrape at all, or woefully not often enough

    yes.. I agree with that..
I remember though when I bought my Harman P61A I was told a dozen times.
"Set it & Forget it." Fill it and walk away...
Well,I still haven't been able to abide by the 2nd part of that.. good thing for my stove and why it's been problem free.. over scraper comes to mind for one......
Always was thinkin, "this ain't a Coffee maker or DVR we're talkin about"

yea, well, there's really not much excuse anymore to NOT clean them....Owner's Manual, YouTube, DVD with stove.....but, yet, still many folks proclaim......"I didn't know I had to clean it"...........ask for the Owner's Manual....get a blank stare.......
