    Burned a bunch of good dry wood this winter that was not grey and showing signs of much checking

    If you click on the link for that article you'll see it is published by the National Firewood Association, or the NFA. The NFA is very adamant about their constitutional right to be able to possess and use their moisture meters. In fact, at a recent NFA rally a well known spokesman for the NFA who was giving the keynote address finished his speech by proudly holding his moisture meter high above his head and uttering the words "From my cold dead hands!". :dex:
    Yes some of us feel very strongly about our moisture meters.:emb:

    I agree Lumber -Jack, its sorrta like woodheat.org saying you dont need to use thermometers on your stove and flue because people get hung up on numbers and dont run the stove correctly.
    If you are not smart enough to run a MM and flue thermometer correctly you have no business cutting and burning firewood.
