Three of my four sons are in college now, but had a rare treat with everyone home for some flank steak, potatoes, grilled asparagus and fresh bread last night. Having the help of this crew over winter and summer breaks will soon be over but I will enjoy it while it lasts. This is the view from my end of the dinner table. Children are a blessing from the Lord.
Yep, especially when you can put 'em to work. Nice lookin' group ya' got there, Greg (or should I say "proud papa"?).
It's great having everyone together, in a busy world we all live in! Great picture of the family! Good eatin too!
Fantastic Greg. The only bad thing is that my invitation never showed up. Food looks good. I was trying to think about the last time our whole family were together and to be honest, I don't remember. That, of course, means it has been too long.
Hey, when your travels take you anywhere near Harrisburg, PA, you let me know. We'll set a place for you and compare notes on our favorite hobby!
That is great! My kids are 12, 9, and 5 - so quite a few more years of them all being around, but it's going by fast. I'm sure it will be great when this happens to me later! Very nice kitchen by the way! Cheers!
Handsome fellers, there, Greg. That they all seem to be happy to come together with Mom and Dad for the weekend speaks volumes about having been raised right. Good job!
That may happen Greg. Sometimes we go through there on our way to Reading because our oldest son lives near Sinking Springs. Besides, if we go through Harrisburg, that means we'll soon be able to smell our way to Hersey!
"Like arrows in the hand of a warrior so are the sons one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them for he will not be shamed when he meets his enemies at the gate". ps127 I bet that group can really make some production.
Greg - What a great looking gang! I bet your home is as inviting as that kitchen. Tell us, do your sons know of the FHC? New members on the horizon? Now, about that clean empty plate at the head of the table..... Enjoy y'all's time together, glad to see a family doing it right in this present day America! Eric VW
Alright, its a deal. Let me know when those travel plans come about and we'll look forward to a visit!
I took care of that empty plate right after taking the picture! They are not on FHC right now, but have been in some of my pictures. I usually show them some of the great pictures on my iPad over dinner. They think i am nuts of course, but i do often hear them mention in passing that they would like to heat with wood someday. And also noticed that for a big split day we are planning they are each bringing home a friend from college that grew up cutting wood and misses it. Expect to have about a 10 man crew to attack a big pile i have been building. Will be taking some pictures that day! 4/18/15 is the big day.
And think i may have asked to you this before. Are you near Galax, VA? That is where my dad was born and raised, where he still cuts and splits wood.
