image.jpg Took advantage of the weather today and dropped a ash one of many that is going to be coming down. I used a ms 290 to fell it, and thevreasoning for that was im used to that saw and know it. I used my new 441 to buck part of it up. It had only had a half tank ran through it up till today

Should be no problem for the 290. I've used one now for 12 or 13 years. Only thing I've had to do was put a new carb on it. One day I fell backwards and as I was going down, I just threw the saw. When I went to retrieve it, it wouldn't start. Ha! Somehow it hit a small twig and it jammed in enough to crack the carb. Never saw that before. But I like the saw. We also added a really small saw and I like it for the small stuff and for limbing.

I know the 290 gets a bad rap but for what it is its a work horse of a saw. I have two 290's and I can promise I've cut more wood with those two saws than some guys with pro saws ever thought of.

I'd love to have any ash at all, they seemed to have died off in this area a while ago, however I do see a lot of cherry prime for the dropping.

I cry to see a nice fat trunk like that turned into firewood. I would be making lumber out of that butt log.
