any body ever think of making a very large wood /coal stove from one of them old locomotive train boliler i know it would be super big i know it would heat my house it would be like summer in the winter in side
well you could do it,but you will need a crane or larger semi wrecker to move it.We used a semi wrecker to load and unload the boiler for the Frick traction engine I helped a friend restore. You will find that most of them the tubes are shot or leak.Boiler plate is probably rusted out in the bottom sheets or in the corners. Although the idea sounds fun,but not very practical.Of course unless you have a steam engine or old locomotive sitting out back.LOL
Post pics. Really sounds like overkill unless you plan on heating a factory. ..hey overkill don't we have a guy by that name wunder if he has one to burn his stacks in.
Just imagine feeding it (without automation). Maybe just a large propane tank or similar? My Buck 81 is too much for my house!
How many time a day do you feel like carrying in wood? You better get cutting for the 12 year plan... You'll need 60 cord a winter..
Gunny, sounds interesting... I think I recognize the line of thought here. "I just found a (fill in the blank) and I could build it into a (fill in the blank) Fill us in on the backstory
