Spent all day Sunday cutting. My BIL has a bunch of dead ash at a piece of property about 5 miles from my house. There is about 1.5 times more than this still to get. Was a ball buster. Dropping trees on the north side of a fence that have to fall over and onto the south side. Notched up high and tried to get the notch just right to 'jump' the fence. Mostly worked. No permanent fence damage. Had BIL and my cutting buddy helping, but I got all the wood...darn it. IMAG0146.jpg IMAG0149.jpg IMAG0143.jpg

Wow looks like an awesome day. Cutting a notch up higher can definitely change "normal" way for a tree to fall- glad you made out good. You have a ton of super primo wood there! The huskee will make quick work of that.

Right where I want to be.
They stuck you with all the wood?
    How dare they.
Whatever will you do with such a large quantity of wood?
    The nerve of some people.

Yeah, it was close, mostly open areas(other than the fence), primo rounds, and had help. Every dog has his day. 800mg Motrin helps a lot. I love cutting.

The best part was when all three of us were in big wood. I had my 038 mag, BIL had my 290, and buddy had his 311. All three with my muffler mods, all screaming in chorus about 10' apart. We all looked at each other and smiled at the same time.

I went with a pellet stove in my camp that we just bought. I did not want to be feeding wood at two places, and the pellet stove can go much longer than any wood stove or boiler. It has a 120lb. hopper, holds 3 bags of pellets. It is really convenient. I certainly won't do it to heat my house, being able to cut wood off of my property and all. But boy does it save me time, not having to do the whole wood thing at that place.

I have plenty of wood, and a fair amount of energy still so when I get my barn built the defiant will likely go there and something newer will go in the house. I can handle two stoves for a while. Wood is plentiful in my world.

Now a little pellet stove in my little shop in the picture would be nice.
