Most here probably don't know this but my family and I live in Amarillo, TX and I commute to Albuquerque, NM each week for work. I work for the Federal Govt. and have 27 years including my military time. A position opened in Amarillo that I'm very qualified for so I spent most of the week applying for the job. This may or may not go my way, but it sure would be nice to cut out 500 miles of driving each week. I'm eligible for full retirement already but I'm only 51 so I still want to work.

500 miles a week on the road is draining, in terms of lost time, stress and $$. hope this works out for you!

For sure that would be a whole lot better for you not having that long drive. I hope for your sake the new job comes quickly.

I recall when I used to commute 35 miles or more to work then once when we moved it took only about 10 minutes to get to work. Wow! It was amazing what a difference that made in my lift and also it did not cost so much every week. And this is when gas was around .40 per gallon. A bit different today.
