Thanks! He's called a Fluffy Corgi. He is "not" show able but he has a long lineage and pedigree. I was looking for another Corgi for our other one to play with, our old lab is 15 and just don't play much anymore.
They pop up very rarely in a litter and I was "happy" to buy him, he was just gonna be a buddy, not a show dog!

The old man has left his spot in front of the fire...

After 18 years of keeping an eye on the fire for us our black cat has moved on.

If the fire went out he would wonder why...
    Img_2100a.jpg

Once the fire was going he would find a spot in front of it...

    Img_3381a.jpg

When the house was quiet we knew where to find him... Nobody would dare get between him and the fire...

    IMG_1719a.JPG

Now the new cat is taking his spot but whenever there is a sound he looks to make sure the old man is not coming...

    Gonna miss the old man.

Sorry you lost your old cat. 18 is a good age to reach. We lost our old cat to some predictor when he was 17. We have new cats now, but no outside cats. Too much happens to outdoor cats. Their average lifespan is less than half that of indoor cats.

We have been lucky with our outdoor cats, they all have lasted to their mid to late teens. It may be because we are not near any roads but they still have wildlife to deal with. I've seen them challenge racoons, possums, and foxes that have wandered into their territory. I've also seen a red-tailed hawk steal a chipmunk they had flushed from the wood pile.

Possibly another thing that helps is that they have a locking cat door. If the collar has a key chip on it will unlock the door. If they feel threatened they can come inside but whatever is chasing them is blocked.

    At seven weeks old...

I like that. But I would like to see one is hat says "go out with you the dog" etc. That is certainly better for both me and the dog!

    Hi all,
I've been working on this travel box so the "boys" can go in style on our Wisconsin trip this summer. It took me about three weekends and some nights to do. They will have plenty of air and ventilation, window in the front and up against the cab is another window where we can open the sliding rear window and toss a treat in while we travel. I had some old boat vents from some trashed boats that worked fine I scavenged over the years, about $100 bucks worth pf 5/8 ply, some 2x3s and latex house paint. I was pricing out some nice aluminum boxes but, $$$$ :eek:o_O $$$$ I wasn't willing to pay over a grand when I could build something more comfortable and cheaper. All thats left is to glue in the carpet, and grind off some screw points and the boys will be riding in style. DSCN1639.JPG DSCN1640.JPG DSCN1638.JPG DSCN1637.JPG

Thanks Fan! My guess is 250lb. It was 3 full sheets if 5/8 ply and maybe 8 or so 2x3's. It's more bulky than heavy, 3 of us loaded it in. I bolted my Thule on top for extra luggage capacity. Our dogs are like our family and I wanted them to be comfy on the trip, It's 1400 miles but we stop a lot for pee breaks :emb::whistle:;)
