Impressive. Wonder how hard they'd be to sharpen once dulled?

Fire Departments for rescue saws. If they were suitable for firewood they would be marketed for that purpose.

No. The ones you are referring to are full carpide chains and no most fire depts don't use them. At least in my region and I've been doing it for 15 years.

The above vid shows carpide tipped chains which in the vid obviously shows cutting cookies. Fire rescue saws are and assiocuated full carpide chains will not cut straight across the grain they designed to use just the tip of the saw which makes sense for ventilation purposes

Fire depts around here don't fall into the hype of special built saws designed for rescue only. They just buy saws and use the same chains we do and run the hell out of the saw when it comes that time

A tree service friend of mine keeps a loop on one of his saws in case he encounters a tree with junk in it. Old fences, nails, etc.

The rescue saws really aren't that much different than the base model. Of course the rescue chains and depth limiter are all available separately.

Hence what I said they don't fall for the hype. They beat the saws they have and replace with new ones when needed And they don't say fire rescue bs on them either. Usually just a mid level saw of what ever brand that has the closest dealer

Yeah some places might I don't get that far into it. here they just buy whatever's close. A couple are brand specific but it's not set in stone. It's really a small expense compared to everything else.
