I got my thermometers from auber. I set the slave unit in the bedroom (already had wire to a thermocouple in the tee above the stove in the basement) and i set the wireless unit in the living room. It sure is nice not having to walk to the bedroom to check the temp. Nothin fancy but it gets the job done and the ability to have another unit in the house without running a second thermocouple wire is great. Also it has two high temp alarm settings and two low temp alarms.

Thanks for the great links - looks very interesting for my Palladian.

Anyone know the difference between ordering the AT100 Universal Thermometer ($41.50) with the TC-K-WS washer sensor ($14.95) versus the bundled AT200CHIM with the same combo??

Looks like ordering separate is just a little cheaper.

I think you would have to set parameters on the AT100
Read this part in the manual for the AT200CHIM

    7. System configuration (code 0089)
Note: If you purchased the thermometer as a bundle (including the temperature probe),
there is no need to change any of these parameters. But if you want to recalibrate the
meter or reconfigure it, you need to read this section.

sounds like you can save a few dollars if you are willing to set up the proper parameters.

I'm ordering one of these kits right now! I just walked away from the stove after loading then got a phone call and got distracted. I smelled something and ran into the stove room. Stove was fine but I had the bypass to the cat open and the chimney was HOT. I caught it in time but am scared about if I don't. I'm getting one of the kits ordered today and installing this as soon as it gets in. Not worth a fire in the house because I got sidetracked.

Did you get the washer mount, probe or stove top mag.
I'm not sure if I would need external buzzer or if the internal alarm would be loud enough or not

I got the probe, I think the flue temp is more concerning for me at this time. I may order one with a magnet later for the stove. But our issues have been when first loading and the bypass open.

There are low cost temperature controllers available at Amazon and Ebay. Use one with a type K thermocouple. Relay or Alarm output can power a siren, light and or buzzer. Alarm on temperature ca be set as required. I use temp controllers to operate blower fan on a Heat-Booster reclaimer. Temperature readings are much more accurate than the simple stove thermometers.

Adjust the alarm point setting. The Auber units are good.

Pulled the trigger , ordered the Auber AT200CHIM Thermometer.
Even though I have SW pipe I got the 4" probe , should be less lag time

Ok it happened,, loaded the stove up for the chilly night ahead, I was in the process of dialing down the stove, I got distracted the stove pipe alarm went off at a 1000 degrees, opened the door and pushed some cold air in there, shut the air down , a couple of minutes the alarm turned off, went and sat down then the stove top alarm went off, 725, so I turned on the blower, 3 or 4 minutes the alarm turned off
Nothing that was a real problem but in 3 to 5 minutes it could have been.
    Happy I bought them

Very glad I bought mine as well, we had warmer weather and hadn't run the stove as much. Then a cold spell hit. My wife asked me to load the fire before I left to run an errand and I said I would as long as she would watch the fire. Well I guess the kids distrcted her and she wasn't paying attention. I have the alarm set at 800 on the pipe so it didn't get too hot. But I am very thankful I ordered that alarm.
