Nice oven! Here is a pic of what it looks like on the other end of the state. I too hope winter is over! I got a lot of wood to be gettin.
Last year at this time I was starting to dig the foundation for the oven.. Then I ran into the stump from the 30" maple we took down 8 yrs ago!! It took me forever to hump that thing out of the hole.
Man, hope it's the last snow too! Too much snow! Some pics from Sussex County, NJ... Some of next years wood. Around back I have about 1/2 cord of beech rounds that need to be split / stacked, and the splitter is buried under about 3 foot of drifts. Ice is starting to melt...and the leaks are starting to flow... Next year I get a roof rake...
These are my outdoor wood stacks lol.. They are located to the right of the wood shelter! Can you see them? Yes they still look like that!
Most times the snow is gone in early April. We'll still get more after that but it doesn't stay long. We're forecast 40's but not 50's yet. Won't be long though. Trouble is, we get a few really nice days then the temperature plummets and if it gets down to 30 we're really freezing then. Up to now, when it is above zero with only a light wind it feels nice. But the body does adjust to Mother Nature.
Don't think it has any affect on them.. They flood them over so they can sand them but snow doesn't help as it is so deep they can't be driven on.. Going to take a long time for this snow to go away.. All my time has been spent snowblowing and shoveling here.. No time or energy for anything else..
Not related to firewood but a nice picture with the snow in the trees. This is from Thursday at our Pittsburgh terminal when I was ready to head back after the trip from hell out there..
