Maybe half an inch in some of the smaller rounds,sapwood mostly gone on them,they're pretty fuzzy.I know they'll catch fire immediately.Bigger rounds most of bark still intact,though lots of it fell off.
That Husky maul looks a lot like a Wetterlings. The W maul is a splitting beast. I would think the Husky would follow suit. Nice pics of good wood. Thanks for putting them up. I'm having a Persimmon and a huge Sweet Gum taken down here by the house (too close to property and power lines for my skill level). So, I haven't been chasing wood this winter like usual. Nice to see pics in the woods.
Burning those few smaller fuzzy pieces from the tops now,just to take the chill off. 48 & sunny,should be 50 by late afternoon. 56 yesterday,was around 35 before I quit for the day.Not a fan of working in slush & mud,would prefer it to be either much colder to freeze solid or stay warm for a few days so the ground can soak up all that melted snow & finally dry out.
