I have a 55 Rancher for sale with an 18" .058-3/8 bar. Comes with two full chisel chains. Both are sound and serviceable. The saw run starts and cuts awesome. It oils well and consistently. I purchased a 562XP earlier this year and promised the wife I'd have this Rancher sold by the beginning of March and now I only have the 29-31 of February left to sell it!!! This was my sons learning saw so it was very well taken care of while he was learning to care for a saw. He is off to college soon so we don't need it around. Truth be told we don't need any saws..our home has a pellet stove. CAD. I am looking for 250.00 plus you pay shipping. Whatever I pay to ship...you pay. His saw has the smiley faces on it so he knew which one was his. Our family owned 4 of them at one time at one point.
I'm not seeing any saws selling right now..... even over on the other site. Last year at this time, a couple I have posted now would have been gone the same day. Not sure if it's the economy or what ???????
I think it is the cold nasty conditions we have been having here lately. There has been snow on the ground here for weeks and we are getting another round as I type. I haven't done any cutting for a couple weeks. A number of guys on here have talked about the new saws they have that haven't been gassed up due to the weather. I think a bunch of members here; but most especially AS, work outside like I do and are not making money like we normally would. I think bryanr2 has a saw for sale on here for that reason.
Yeah I think a lot of guys who cut trees for a living, aren't working right now because of the weather. So they're selling saws too, instead of buying. It's the weekend warrior guys like me, suffering from cabin-fever-induced CAD who are buying right now. But, I already have one of these. Of course, mine doesn't have those really cool stickers...
Non pro saws just aren't wildly popular, and while your price is very fair I think it's right at that pain threshold of "should I spend a little more for a used, higher revving, lighter weight pro saw" question. I just sold a minty 61 and it took a bit, just have to be patient. Those 55s are very popular and excellent, reliable saws. Some piston pics and compression number/pics wouldn't hurt if you have the time and ambition. I'm no saw trader by far but just offering my opinion and trying to help a bit. Good luck sir!
