Woke up a bit earlier than everyone else this morning so I could play with my new toy. February was the coldest month on record for us here so I might have been a little short of what I need. Instead of dipping into next years stacks I decided to cut some dead stuff. There is an elm in the side yard I thought about getting, but I had some ash tops in my log pile already so I chopped some of that up instead. Oh yeah, had to dig that out too.
What was the temp when you took that moisture reading? Bring a piece into the house, let it warm up and test again. Just wondering.
Man all that snow shoveling you're doing is making me ache just sitting by the fire. Good job though.
I think it got up to 26 today. I left a piece inside for an hour or two and it was reading 7-9% on the outside. But it's pretty dry in my house so the outside probably dried up really quick.
Thats a lot of work just to get to it man, but I would have been out there today too if it wasn't snowing hard all day here. Hows that new toy running ?
The saw ran great. Took about 4-5 pulls the first time to get er going, but once she popped, it was starting up with 1/2 pull. I didn't cut anything big yet but it seems like it got some nice power. Ripped right through those branches..
