pql1, What tournament is that? I have fished the White Bear Lake one sponsored by the Jaycees. Heck of a good time. And yes it is a little freaky at first when you hear the ice crackin. Like my ice fishing partner says, "a good way to weed out the rookies".
Brainerd Jaycees up on Gull Lake. This was my 16th year doing the tournament. It is always a great time. More of an event than anything, but the proceeds do a lot of great things. Only made the board once and won a humminbird but one of these years I'll drive home in the new truck Hope you slay the jumbo's up on Winnie when you're up there. By the way, I had my 22 year old son out there with me as well !
Fished first light til 1:00 today. Landed 9 Lakers but lost a monster at the hole. Fishing on 7in of clear ice over 174ft of water is a weird feeling. Came home to a load of oak and buckthorn...life is good.
